In the ending movie of the animated Transformers series, Megatron died and was risen in space in a new form and name, Galvatron. From a gun, now he's a canon/tank.Same concept with the new Transformers 2: Revenge of the fallen movie, Megatron was resurrected from death and transforms into a cybertronian tank.
