9 year-old kid created a starwars website !

Today I stumbled upon a Star Wars blogsite created by a 9 year-old kid. Can you believe that??? And I checked the source, he's not using any content management system (cms) to aid him. He's using purely html codes.

I thought he might be 9 when he created this during the time of the movies like revenge of the Sith which is 2005 making him 13 already but his images were from the new Clone Wars series so the site is quite updated, at least 2008 or current. Therefore he's really 9.

I'm impressed on his skills considering his age. Kids usually don't have interest yet on such matters. I have a niece with same age so I can relate and I'm really amazed.

Here's his site: http://www.schwef.com/nolan

The force is strong with him.
A jedi, he will be.

Tweet using command line

simple script that will allow you to send tweets from the command line:

The script you will see takes exactly one argument: your tweet. You use it like this:

$ ~/bin/tweet "Writing my TechMails"
Successful tweet!

Once you run the script and look on Twitter, your post is there for all to see. The script itself uses nothing fancier than cURL to post the text provided to the script.

The text must observe shell constraints: it must be properly escaped for special characters (such as "!" and "?"). The script doesn't require the tweet to be in quotes; you could use:

$ ~/bin/tweet Does my tweeter need quotes\?
Successful tweet!

and it would work just as well.

The script itself:

#!/bin/sh
tweet="${@}"
user="username"
pass="sekret"
if [ $(echo "${tweet}" | wc -c) -gt 140 ]; then
    echo "FATAL: The tweet is longer than 140 characters!"
    exit 1
fi
curl -k -u ${user}:${pass} -d status="${tweet}"

https://twitter.com/statuses/update.xml >/dev/null 2>&1

if [ "$?" == "0" ]; then
    echo "Successful tweet!"
fi

Output of the cURL command is directed to /dev/null because it returns some XML that we don't need to care about. The script also makes sure that the tweet is 140 characters or less, and exits with an error if it is longer.

Aside from the million dollars Director Michael Bay harvests from the movie, he gets an estimated 8% on Transformer toys tied to movies.

Some of Bay's blockbuster action movies are Bad Boys 1 & 2, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, The Island, and ofcourse the biggest of all, Transformers.

TF2: Revenge of the Fallen --- Toy Launch

Hundreds or maybe thousands of TF fans and toy collectors flocked at the Atrium, Bldg A of SM Megamall last May 30, 2009 for the awaited launch of the movie's toys.

Cybertron Philippines organized the event well with great exhibitions of various transformers collections, games for kids, freebies (masks, posters, key chains, stickers, pins), and promos. They also had a "toy vault" plus 137 "mini-con in a jar" raffle.

Hasbro categorized the TF toys especially the movie versions to:

Leader Class: P2,999
Voyager Class: P1,699
Deluxe Class: P699
Scout Class: P649
Legends Class: P349

Toy collectors, fans, bumped and grabbed with parents and kids like it was a food crisis. To be among the first who have the new movie collectibles, some made reservations, others fall-in-line, while the rest grab every opportunity whenever a toy kingdom staff open a box.

It was so over-whelming that whenever you see someone holding a new or rare piece, you'll ask "san mo nakuha yan?". It was like a chaos. You'll see buyers with basket full of toys. My personal comment to them was "Grabe naman bumili ang mga ito". And at the end of the day, I just realized... I am one of them. I bought 1 voyager class and 4 deluxe, all movie versions.

MEGATRON in New GALVATRON Mode

In the ending movie of the animated Transformers series, Megatron died and was risen in space in a new form and name, Galvatron. From a gun, now he's a canon/tank.

Same concept with the new Transformers 2: Revenge of the fallen movie, Megatron was resurrected from death and transforms into a cybertronian tank.
